The Debater
Alaska is more than the place Hayley Cavitt goes to school or calls home; Alaska is her playground. Hayley grew up in Alaska going on adventures with her parents. She spent long periods of time on her family’s sailboat, seeing parts of Alaska many will never lay eyes on.

She loves the outdoors, to ski and hike. Hayley really just loves Alaska.
​
She also likes being a part of a sorority at UAA. Hayley is a sorority sister in UAA’s Theta Delta chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha.
​
She is choosing to take her time in college slowly, believing the journey is more important than the destination. She likes being a student at UAA and is a passionate member of the Seawolves debate team. She wants to savor this time.
​
She speaks eloquently; words seem to flow from her like water down a stream. As she stands in the bit of sunshine Alaska gets during the winter, nature seems to cuddle around her, at home and comfortable, accepting her as she walks along a snowy path. One can picture her wide smile gazing out from a sailboat towards beautiful Alaskan shores.

Alaska seems to love Hayley.
